B-Rad's Phicops and the Diva's Challenge

Happy New Year

Phicops

This is such a fun new tangle from the Diva and her husband B-Rad. They must have had a lot of fun over the holiday's creating this beautiful tangle. Thank you for sharing it and for the challenge to use it.
When I first looked at it, I immediately saw the Sydney Opera House. I had a look at my own photo's from my trip there a couple of years ago. Yup, that's the opera house alright.
It also reminded me of the tangle angel fish, so I added that to my tile. Then I added some organic tangles to go with the flow of the others. Phicops is a pleasure to tangle.

I looked at this photo and used it as inspiration for my string.

This show's a similarity to Phicops.

The Diva Dance

I read the newsletter from Zentangle® earlier this week, and then I read the Diva Dare. I felt like a child in a dance studio, so many wonderful new moves to learn. It has been a long time since I was in a dance studio, but I do remember those evenings when we would arrive to find out that it was time to learn a new dance. Just like learning a new dance the Diva dance has it's obstacles, although it was my job to put them there and then get around them. I learned to just keep going. The rhythm started to flow, and the dance began to take shape. There are lots of obstacles that we all need to get around and somehow we do. I shaded this to look like a  pillow because at  the end of the day it is always nice to have a pillow to rest and rejuvenate.
Congratulations to Laura on 100 challenges and her incredible ability to keep going despite the many obstacles.

Love Heals

26 New Stars Held Together with Heart Strings

Here is the tile I did while thinking about the tragedy in Connecticut last week. I will never fully understand how such a horrible thing could happen. By the time I finished this tile my energy had definitely changed for the better. Thank you Rick and Maria for this beautiful gift.
Denyse Grower Jones is a a CZT who lives in Connecticut. She created a Facebook event called "Love Heals". She is going to deliver Zendalas, ZIA's and tiles to the school. Her main requirement was that with each stroke your thoughts, prayers and positive energy for all of the friends and families, go into it.  I will send this out in the mail today. Thank you Denyse.

Today I found a post from Denyse with all of the contributions for this event. It was decided that she would post them all to her blog site for all to see the beautiful contributions that she received. The school is not accepting any more art as they have received so much. This is a very thoughtful solution to address this dilema. Maybe one day some of the family's may see it. If you would like to see the contributions have a look at this link

Christmas ZIA

It's that wonderful time of year again.  The Christmas season is in full bloom.  I like to keep my heart open to all the joy that surrounds me and let it fill me up.  Here is a little bit of joy posted in gratitude for all that I am able to give and receive.   Merry Christmas to all.

12-12-12 and The Diva's Challenge #99

Diva Dare #99

There seem to be so many significant numbers today. I just knew it was time to jump on board the Diva challenge. This week is Laura's 99th challenge. Thank you Laura and Margaret Bremner, that was fun.
Being that I am Canadian, the number 99 brings fond memories of Wayne Gretzky. Wow, what an incredible hockey player.
Today is also the 12th day of the 12th month in the year 2012. It looks so nice all lined up, 12-12- 12-. I think I will buy a dozen of something, just because.
It is also the first day of the ski season here in my neck of the woods. Yippee  a chance to do a few runs before Christmas. That always helps to make my heart sing.
Today is also the pot luck dinner for our Garden Club. It is going to be another day with JAK. See more about me, for more on JAK.

Six Thank You's

When I began doing Zentangle®, I quickly realized that these would make lovely cards to share with friends. I have given away a vast majority of the tiles that I have done. Here are six  that I gave to friends after a party to celebrate my birthday. I actually thought to scan them for this blog.

A little bit of a scramble

A little bit of a scramble

I just read the December 10th newsletter from Zentangle®. It was exiting to see this post about the certification class, because I was there. I quickly added a comment to show my gratitude. My comment appeared on the screen almost immediately. I then realized that there was a link to my very new blog. Yikes, I thought. Here I am on the net, not really ready to be seen. I have been working on this blog thing for a short while. I am very new to this scene.  I decided I needed to add at least one tangle and so I drew up this jar of Tangle Jam very quickly.
I hope to learn more about using this site so that I can share some of my tangles.
In the mean time, it is almost Christmas and I have much to do to prepare.
